Oh What a Day...

Today was supposed to be just another yearly physical examination.  You know, the checking of the blood pressure, lymph nodes, eyes/ears, etc...  Well, according to the blood work I had done, I have really high Cholesterol and I'm close to being pre-diabetic.

Huh?

The Doctor pretty much told me all the things I'm doing wrong and what I can improve on.  For instance:

  • More veggies, less carbs-yeah, I know I need to eat more veggies...but ick, I'm not a fan of salads everyday.
  • No More Peanut Butter---EXCUSE ME???  Do you KNOW what my favorite food is?!
  • More exercise--Hello? What have I been doing for the past month and a half?
  • Less sugar--Crappity crap crap.
  • I need to use SPF 70 sunscreen on my face
  • He wants me to read into Diabetic nutrition and follow it as much as possible
  • Limit alcohol--right, like I'm a raging alcoholic right now
All I can say is that leaving this appointment made me feel like everything I'm doing in my daily life is simply not good enough.  Geez.  I thought I was doing ALRIGHT.  Guess I was wrong.

So I went for a 2.5 mile run, one of my usual routes...and I felt like I was running in maple syrup.  I just couldn't go any faster and it made me even more frustrated.

ARGH!
