Tattoo Show & Tell

Sharing my newest tattoos...
The anchor was originally done in 2005, but the color was really light pink and a lot of people thought it was a "brand." So, I had Chris from ArtCore retouch it with a more vibrant color and shading a few months ago. I love it!

Chris also did the "N" on my wrist earlier this summer as well. It's my 4th and latest tattoo, and I love this one a lot. The N is my maiden name initial (duh, if you know me). I had to have it retouched a little because some of the ink didn't take the first time around. Second time's the charm for this one!

Seriously, I'm considering my next tattoo. I'm thinking of having one done behind my ear...don't know what yet though. Hmmm.

I'll post pics of my Rose of Sharon tattoo soon. :)

Meet Murphy

Meet my kitten, Murphy.  He's about 9 months old and a purebred Burmese.  Apparently they are a good breed for people with allergies (Travis).  :-)

He usually talks a lot more than this.

Oh What a Day...

Today was supposed to be just another yearly physical examination.  You know, the checking of the blood pressure, lymph nodes, eyes/ears, etc...  Well, according to the blood work I had done, I have really high Cholesterol and I'm close to being pre-diabetic.

Huh?

The Doctor pretty much told me all the things I'm doing wrong and what I can improve on.  For instance:

  • More veggies, less carbs-yeah, I know I need to eat more veggies...but ick, I'm not a fan of salads everyday.
  • No More Peanut Butter---EXCUSE ME???  Do you KNOW what my favorite food is?!
  • More exercise--Hello? What have I been doing for the past month and a half?
  • Less sugar--Crappity crap crap.
  • I need to use SPF 70 sunscreen on my face
  • He wants me to read into Diabetic nutrition and follow it as much as possible
  • Limit alcohol--right, like I'm a raging alcoholic right now
All I can say is that leaving this appointment made me feel like everything I'm doing in my daily life is simply not good enough.  Geez.  I thought I was doing ALRIGHT.  Guess I was wrong.

So I went for a 2.5 mile run, one of my usual routes...and I felt like I was running in maple syrup.  I just couldn't go any faster and it made me even more frustrated.

ARGH!

Purple

Alison, Debi, & Bill @ Purple

Today was the annual "after anniversary" meeting, and we had lunch at
Purple (one of my faves!).
Unfortunately, my margherita pizza tasted funny & was cold...but the
company was great! We had a good time answering weird questions and
just getting to know each other more. It was a productive day.

Tomorrow my coworker, Colleen, and I are moving to different cubicles.
I get to organize! Yay!

Today's Randomness

The other day I watched the Food Network's "Unwrapped" show and there was this ice cream shop that created interesting flavors of homemade ice cream. Last night I thought of my own ice cream creation: turkey bacon and peanut butter! The base would have to be either Vanilla or maybe even a light eggnogg. I think I might just try it...

Another random thought:

I recycle my straw wrappers. Hee hee.

Blah Blah Blahg

Blog is a funny word.  I had to describe what it meant to my grandmother-in-law the other night.  It's short for weblog (right?), and it's basically an online journal.  She didn't understand why someone would want their journal/diary in public...I mean, "isn't that the point of a private journal??"  Well, not anymore, it seems.

One blog that I follow all too much is PerezHilton.com.  Seriously.  I'm addicted.  A part of me wishes that I could write about celebrities and insider stuff everyday--it seems like fun!  Alas, I live in Kent...

Dad's New "Baby"

My Dad loves his new Harley.
He loves the speed, awesomeness, and of course, the attention.  He just got a really nice leather riding jacket and leather gloves, now all he needs is a pair of silver aviator sunglasses.  It makes him feel like "the bad guy in Terminator."

I really want a bike, too.  But definitely not as big as Dad's Harley.  I don't think I could handle that.  Also, Travis would hate me.  :-)

25 cent coffee

Start my day of right! Woo hoo! Round number two!

Travis

We've been together for over 4 years now, married for 1. He's amazing and he's my everything.  Life would be boring without him.

*sigh*

Cape Cod

Sampson's Island in Massachusetts.  My home away from home.  I seriously think it's been
more than two years since I've been there.  Sad.
